2014 has typically been a year of ups and downs however we have - TopicsExpress

2014 has typically been a year of ups and downs however we have come through the year older and wiser. We have made many new friends and said goodbye to a few others. Two of our saddest goodbyes were to our two wonderful chestnut boys, Basil and King. They are missed but their spirits live on. We have acquired some lovely new horses who will hopefully become better known in 2015. This year I feel our horses have got better and better. I am confident we have a happy team of equines who know we listen and care. The horses and ponies really do seem to enjoy being part of the Kingsmead team. We also have a great team of staff and volunteers; this team just keeps getting stronger and we are so grateful to have such devoted and generally happy staff! The staff, some clients and the horses enjoyed a two day horse awareness course which will hopefully inform our practice next year. A special thanks must go to our behind the scenes team of Sue ( reiki and a lot more) Emma (shoeless solutions - barefoot farrier), Margaret (barefoot osteopath), Ben our farrier, Corrine our dentist and Priory vets, they have all played important roles in keeping our horses so well. There have been others but simply too many to mention. We have launched the Friends of Kingsmead Horses, an exciting charity which supports our ethos and will enable many more people to have access and help from horses. Another big thank you to the committee. We have an exciting year ahead. Our plans for 2015 include a new surface in the school, a round pen so we can expand our equine assisted learning programme and hopefully more improvements to the yard. Whilst our dream for the year is the sensory walkway! We hope to see many of you over the next year, come to ride or just to enjoy the horses. Wishing everyone a happy and healthy New Year.
