I’m Patricia Anne F. Dayrit, 16 years of age, taking up bachelor of Education in the Philippine Normal University. Being a part of this institution is really a blessing for me. I admit that the entrance exam was very hard but in the end here I am, passed the exams and interviews and also the medical and now I’m enrolled! surely amazing because I wouldn’t believe that I can make it but I know that God is always with me and I know that He was my guide and this is His plan for me . And also this scholarship I know that he’s the reason behind this. I’m the only child in my family, my parents are Ferdinand R. Dayrit and Erlinda F. Dayrit I came from an average family, we are happy way back then but unfortunately they got separated , and I don’t know why , they never told me the reason . As a child of this family that was already broken it’s really hard for me and of course very painful but instead of rebelling or something , I just accept the fact that nothing stays forever and I push myself to become strong . Strong enough to conquer all the trials I will go through. I’m now residing with my mother after their separation. She’s a “kasambahay“ or a housemaid. Her salary is P 2,500 per month. We are just renting our house that is paid by my auntie because my mother is also the one who’s taking care of my grandmother while the rest of my mother’s siblings are working for their own family we call it sharing of responsibilities. Her salary as you can see is really not enough for my studies that’s why I will do everything to help her and also for me to support my studies and finish this course And my father ? I don’t know exactly where he is but there are some rumors that’s his in jail right now I don’t know if it is true but I still love and care for him and I wish to see him again . My story is really qualified for shows featuring true to life story. And as I wrote this I started to cry because this situation I’m having right now is so hard but I know God has his reasons why this is happening to me and my family. This experienced of mine serves an eye opener for me to have faith and trust to our dear Lord and believe in His ways. This experience gave me strength to fight for other challenges that life are about to bring and to face them all without fears. Being a teacher is the one I really want to be. I want to be a sample of a student who gave her best and strive for more. I want to be an inspiration of those students who lacks money but still wants to finish their studies. I will not only teach them the lessons written on the book but I will teach them the values I learn from my experiences. I may not be the perfect teacher in the near future but I will assure you that I will become a good teacher that students can rely on. Honestly I’m not up to the salary, I value more the lessons that they will again knowledge and the wisdom I can share. I will always have this motto: “SILA ANG MAGIGING KAYAMANAN KO, ANG MGA ESTUDYANTENG HUHUBOG AT MAGPAPAUNLAD NG SUSUNOD NA HENERASYON, HINDI LANG SA BANSANG ITO , MAGING SA BUONG MUNDO“. What is written above is purely my story and as you can see I really need this scholarship because I want to finish my studies and have a better future. I need this because without this scholarship I’m afraid that I’ll stop in the middle of the school year because I know my mother will somehow cannot support my studies . Honestly speaking I know this will going to be hard for me because I’m less fortunate and I don’t want that to happen that’s why I’m applying for this and I do hope for your further consideration and with God’s grace I know He will help me! Thank you! God bless!
