2014 was a monumental year for Wild Things! We spayed & neutered 407 cats this year!! This far exceeds the goal of 100 cats per year that we set for ourselves when we started this endeavor in 2010. Some numbers to reflect what it takes to fix 407 cats – Our total paid to veterinarians for the year $23,135.92 (That’s $5,755 for neuters, $13,155 for spays, $1,650 for rabies vaccinations, and $2,575.92 in miscellaneous medications and de-wormer) We bought $81.83 worth of kitten food for our foster families, and spent $152.23 on operating expenses (checks, bank fees, etc). Though the tremendous generosity of our donors (YOU!) we received $24,058.83 in donations!! And that is not counting the food, and supplies that so many generously gave! We especially want to thank The Heart of Missouri Humane Society, The Friends of the Jefferson City Animal Shelter, The Baker Family Charitable Fund, Shawna Pooler-Hall , Pam Emmert, Stephanie Adrian and the Pie Bird Collectors, Donna Payne and Tropical Tans, and our generous foster families, Sheree Wilson and Nick & Alesia Bateman. And everyone who adopted cats and kittens from us! Thank you SO MUCH!!!! While we dont know if we can keep up this pace for 2015 we will give it our best. It is so wonderful knowing that there are so many caring people out there who are looking out for the cats of our community. Jennifer & Jackie
