2015 2015 is here. High school seniors are finally in their “year” and the kids born in 1999 will get their chance for a driver’s license. Presidential campaigns will grow into full swing. There will be scandals and omg’s. Some things will go on like always and on the other hand I’m sure that new technologies, creations, and ideas will find their place in 2015. Resolutions will be made; some will be kept! What will your 2015 look like? In truth 2015 will be a mixed bag for most of us. 2015 is sure to have it’s monumental moments. There will be engagements, weddings, births, and graduations, and victories. Some folks will get new jobs and appropriate raises for their years of hard work. Some folks will meet their future spouse. Some of us will discover our sense of passion and calling. Records will be broken. New friendships will blossom and bucket list items will be achieved. For some of us, 2015 is going to be amazing! 2015 is also sure to be a year of improvement. Folks have already set goals about weight loss and diet. Some of us will actually use those gym memberships throughout the year. Counseling sessions will improve some struggling marriages. Sobriety will be found by some addicts. Books will be read and written. New languages will be learned. Some of us will get a handle on our finances. It’s going to be a year of improvement. 2015 will have its share of pain, too. Divorce papers will be filed. Cancer will claim some of our loved ones. Accidents will take their toll. Some of our greatest fears will be realized and we will face life without some of the assurances we had before. Alzheimer’s disease will make its claim on folks we love. Some of us will face the consequences for our crimes and indiscretions. Some of us will even be victims of someone else’s crime. Pets will pass on. History has taught me that no matter what the year is, there will be some trouble for all of us. Most of all 2015 is full of potential. It hasn’t happened yet! 2015 is ahead of us. The real question is how will you handle the ups and downs that are sure to happen. I hope that you take time to enjoy the highs that 2015 will offer. Don’t rush through them only to wallow in the hardships. Let some new people into your life and give your time to relationships that need nurturing. Try something new. Make some changes. Take a trip outside your comfort zone. I believe that the best songs still have to be written and the best paintings are still to come. May 2015 be the year that brings peace to our world and heals our brokenness. As Paul said in II Corinthians 5:17b, “the old life is gone, the new has come.” Embrace 2015 and may 2015 embrace you! Love one. Love another. Jack
