2015 Passion Test: 4th Jan 2015: I was drawn to an orphanage, Rumah Amal Limpahan Kasih (RALK) after a late breakfast through a roadside signboard. I walked 30mins to find my way to this mystery treasure house of talented teenagers. I offered to give free tuition lessons but I was gently rejected. It is an all-girls religious orphanage home of 200 girls. I offered RM50 donation. Duly accepted with a receipt for me to reduce personal tax liability. Great! I offered my namecard so they could call me in case if they changed their mind. Left not particularly victorious because I failed to convince them my offer. Nope they did not call me after 6 days. 10th Jan 2015: I walked in RALK again. This time I requested to meet the Housemaster. I didnt know what to offer but I brought some books to offer as donation if they could use them. Teacher Su offered me Teh-O-Ais-Limau as a courtesy and spoke to me for an hour. The deal is tentatively on. They offered a group of 15 junior secondary boys for me to teach English, instead of the girls, day and time to be confirmed. Because its a religious school and they are not very comfortable with male teachers teaching the girls. They would ferry them in from Seri Kembangan home for my 1-2-hour weekly free session. Im speechless and felt totally honored and now the pressure to perform my best. Well I guess thats still an achievement coz I persisted for a second walk-in. Next question, should I pursue Masters in Teaching & Learning with Taylors University? =)
