2048 is an addictive game (that, yes, is a rip off of another game), and now theres a website, games.usvsth3m/2048, that lets you make your own 2048. All it lets you do is insert your own text or images for the various numbered tiles, and I think theres some critical rhetoric therein, highlighting the complexities of digital intellectual property. But as Anastasia Salters version reveals, the text or imagery we fill our templates with can still communicate meaningfully ( games.usvsth3m/2048/academia-edition-3/ ). My take was to parody another derivative game-like thing, Cory Arcangels Super Mario Clouds. My version is nearly unplayable, and maybe thats the point, if there must be a point: games.usvsth3m/2048/super-clouds-bro-edition-2/
