Some of you might be aware about the tragedy that happened in Malaysia whereby a female cosplayer had been brutally murdered while she went out to have a prop making session. Now we may not know the case details fully or what happens behind it and it isnt really in the position for us to jump to conculsions as well but this serves as a strong reminder to all cosplayers to stay safe and exercise due diligence when meeting with someone for the very first time and also i strongly highlight,THIS DOES NOT MEAN CASES LIKE THIS WILL NOT HAPPEN IN SINGAPORE OR TO ANYONE COSPLAYER OR NOT before people start on a bashing fest on the hobby of cosplay again. So be it as a cosplayer to cosplayer or cosplayer to photographer partnership this is also time to remind yourself that if you arent comfortable working with the other party, do terminate the partnership together and if any cosplayer or photographers are making any indecent or inapporiate actions towards you, do not suffer in silence, please inform your parents or report to the authorities. Also, for the female cosplayers NEVER, EVER go a male cosplayers house unless you are REALLY comfortable it. And lastly to everyone, please have a safe and positive cosplaying experience!
