21 (Gibraltar 1779-83) Air Assault Bty. The Bty is due to return to the UK after a successful and professionally stimulating operational deployment in Afghanistan. They have excelled. For most members of the Bty this is their last tour in Afghanistan under the HERRICK mantle, some H450 crew members fall within a different deployment cycle. As the final weeks approach so the return programme will start to take shape, families should be cognisant that as a duty of care the Bty conducts a normalisation week at work before being released on POTL. The aim of the normalisation week is to allow the time for individuals to return to the normality of in-camp routine and conduct mandatory briefings and RSOI (return paperwork). Details of the return flights have yet to be promulgated but again please be aware of the inherent fragilities of the air-bridge. Return dates are always subject to change due to the aforementioned fragility, we encourage a flexible mindset. We wish the Bty a safe last few weeks.
