21 Kiiled on Kumasi Road, 18 in critical condition ............................................................................................ 21 persons have been confirmed dead in a gory accident that occurred at dusk Sunday 31st Aug. 2014. The accident happened at a curved just before the Asankare township on the Nkawkaw to Kumasi road, 3 cars, a Spinter, a Toyota Hiaz and a Glo Van were involved in a head-on collision which left all aboard the Toyota and some others in the sprinter dead, in all, 15 people were confirmed lifeless on the spot. One could see nothing but 3 mangled cars, blood flowing on the road and dead bodies of all-youth men and women on the ground. You can never hide your tears but to break down in tear as you watch bodies of the crashed young men and women and more than 20 others seriously injure with their arm, heads, legs and other body parts broken and blood oozing from their injury. Speaking on Obuoba Fm this morning, DSP Samuel S. Latibu, Juaso Divisional Police Commander indicated that the accident is actually a disheartening one, a heartbreaking one and in fact a gory one which took the police and fire service courage and heard work to rescue those trapped in the vehicles. DSP Latibu indicated the many of the injured are still in a very critical condition and 5 have been transferred to Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) Accident and Emergency Center. He further disclosed that a 3 month old baby who was among the injured needs prayers because the mother is in the junction of life and death as well as the baby. So far, 15 died on the spot, 6 died at the Juaso and Konongo Hospitals bringing the number of casualties to 21 and 18 are still on admission, many of whom even after survival may lose either a leg or an arm as a result of the degree of their injury. There is the likelihood of loosing about 4 passengers in this accident and so all we need now is to pray for the Gods intervention for the injured.
