21-Nov-2014 NEW BOILER FOR 3801 TO BE BROUGHT TO AUSTRALIA heritageexpress.au/pages/legendsofsteam/3801/default.htm — Transport Heritage NSW (THNSW) welcomes the Minister for Transports statement today announcing the new boiler for locomotive 3801 will be brought to Australia. The return of locomotive 3801s boiler is a significant milestone as it will allow local experts to finalise the work required. Both the THNSW CEO and technical specialists will continue to collaborate with TfNSW through a steering committee overseeing the boiler project. With its experienced, skilled and active steam workforce based at its workshops in Chullora and Thirlmere, THNSW is ready and able to coordinate the final stages of work necessary to get locomotive 3801 back on track. THNSW shares in the communitys interest in 3801 and is determined to see this iconic and much loved locomotive back on track as a vital part of bringing transport heritage in NSW to life.
