22- 04 -2013 TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:- Dear Sir/Madam, Thanks to you our dear sponsors TPL and TE for the great continuous support you are reaching to us. (CDTS). More thanks goes to the Pritchard family, friends and relatives in UK, operations manager Bugoye Tronder power station headed by Mzee Losio, Tronder power communications committee headed by Mama Teddy Walinah and all our local supporters. We are what we are and steadily maintaining our project work because of your support. ACHIEVEMENTS: With lots of love and pleasure, we report to you the following achievements which CDTS has managed to record since late last year. 1) Converting individual village youth into village teams: As a result of CDTS’ operation with different youth from different villages in Maliba and Bugoye sub counties and without any kind pause since 2011, every village in our area of operation has developed a youth group or team. An example is Bikone Rwenzururu Youth Alliance (BIRWEYA). This started as Kyanya F.C, a youth foot and net ball for Kyanya village but is now working as a youth community Based organization in Bikone parish Maliba Sub County with various projects and is now registered at the District as a partner youth’s CBO of CDTS. Among services and clubs under the above CBO are: I. Savings and Credit Association II. Tree planting / nursery bed III. Music Dance and Drama (MDD) IV. Lobbying support to needy children. V. Foot ball and netball. The second example is a youth village group / team called Elation Crew limited. This is a group of boys and girls who were once beneficiaries / users of CDTS. They are now doing music. They got this empowerment of them deciding their destinies from CDTS where one of them - Kule Rabson is still working as CDTS secretary and a football coach and Mbusa Milton was working as a football coach. The music group based in Kyanya Maliba sub county is now happily doing well and praising CDTS for her great support in various ways which include advises on how to start a profit making project as a youth. They are now fighting to sign partnership with CDTS as member organization for continuous team work in the community. More to the above is that every village we do has got a football and netball team. These have strongly set up themselves and they will soon start competing at different levels in addition to the CDTS different tournaments. 2) Annual competing grounds: Through your support, CDTS has for the whole of last year been setting up different competing grounds for different age groups. The aim of this Is to fulfil our aims and objectives of: I. Increasing fitness levels of people in the community II. Providing training for coaching in many sports so that participants can train others. III. Competing in all sports at village, district and national level as an opportunity for all in the community to show case talents. IV. Facilitating methods of community development with local organization as they appear in our constitution. Therefore by late last year, CDTS had the following competitions/ tournaments for all village teams in our area of operation to compete. The same competitions/ tournaments shall be held every year on the same schedules as they appeared last year and are as follows: I. Easter cup knock out competitions:. This is played every Easter season by the teams which reach the quarter final stage in the august football competitions. This time when we had our Easter competition, Ibanda Catholic Youth (ICY) won the trophy by 3-1. This is the second time for ICY to take the trophy. II. Seven side veterinary competitions: This is done on every 3rd June, (martyrs day), we started it last year and we need also to continue with it this year. It is also done by the ex- me, who played football long age, (30 years and above). III. The under-15 June football competitions: This is played every 9th June (Heroes day) by teams from all the village centres in our area of operation. IV. The August football and netball competitions: This is played every August of every by all village football and netball teams regardless of age but experience of the players as the greatest matter. During this competition, we fulfil our greatest aim and objective of being inclusive of all regardless of age, religion, gender, ability or race. V. X-mas under 18 football and netball competitions: This is played by all under- 18 years’ football village teams and then for the village netballers, it is for every age. For each of the above competitions, CDTS gives out gifts to teams that perform better. All this has always been successful for the whole last year and we also have greater hopes of having it successful this year and make it colourful than last year cause of the support you still have for us. We need also to add on the seven side girls competition if all goes well. 3) Non – stop training and refereeing services : All primary and secondary schools both private and government aided have benefited alot. Games masters feel relieved from what was seen as a burden of training their school teams and then refereeing their inter class competitions. More still due to your continuous support, most schools in our operation areas no longer know the prices of sports’equapments like balls, uniforms among others. This is because CDTS provide them to the students and pupils. With the support from you, we have managed to keep answering their requests and we have also maintained our core project of schools and village programmes where we reach the pupils and students and train them. Also villages, churches, schools and other institutions have been having friendly matches over weekends, CDTS here is the official organization that provides refereeing services. 4) Developing young talent into potential: Basing on article 2 of our constitution – aim and objective where we aimed to compete in all sports at local, district, regional and national level, CDTS has developed local and young talent (boys) in CDTS Fc which is competing at regional level under Lake Edward group. Most of the local boys playing for CDTA Fc which is doing well and it’s the 1st out of ten teams in the group, they have so far played 13 games, won ten, lost one and drew two making it 32 points. The boys are still working for CDTS project as coaches and referees. These include: Monday Patrick, Mbalasi Godfrey, Sulait, Saul, Tadeo, Roy, Adonius among others. This therefore calls for continuous support for more local talents to be developed into the team. Besides the CDTS FC, other CDTS teams like boys’ netball and volley ball teams have been away called for various competitions at various levels. All these are also made up of local players who are now the fruits of our core project. Early this year, CDTS volley ball team was invited for a Concerned Genius and Cogent Youth community Volley ball competition on 11/ 01/2013. 5) Balls donation from KAMPALA KIDs LEAGUE (KKL): CDTS project achieved over 12 balls yellow in colour and plastic like. The balls are tubeless pressure themselves. These have helped us much and made us benefit all age groups we find at the field. Therefore, if we had enough funds we could have done alot. In this case, we call for more support in order to do alot than the above but we always do according to the given budget. CHALLENGES: As you know every organization has got some of the problems or challenges they always face in their day to day running of their programs, CDTS has and is still facing the following challenges. 1) Lack of enough funds:. This has made us not to: I. Expand to new places as requested by the community examples Karusandara, Mubuku, Kitswamba. Hima and Kyabarungira sub counties. II. We have also been unable to add new routes to new to new schools and villages in our old catchment area like kisamba, kiharara among others. III. We still have fear of our football failing to join Big League if it passes the regional league. IV. We have also failed to process staff identity cards as it has been talked about in several staff and management meetings for proper identification of staffs when in the field. V. There is no enough shades at our old boys field, the few we had were blow by the wind un knowingly and there was theft of the iron sheets and timber. 2) Delay in disbursement of money: This has made us also delay in the implementation of the activities planned for the year. 3) Less equipments: The equipment shipment we last got from Hampshire which included balls, uniforms, shoes, cones among others helped us much. Whenever village teams, schools and churches come and ask to borrow any of the equipments above, we would easily reply, but since we no longer receive, our shelf is breaking with over whelming unanswered requests. Future plans I. Having competitions held as they were last year adding the girls’ seven side football competition. II. Adding schools and villages in our catchment area. III. Having CDTS FC moving or joining Big league. IV. Having staffs identity cards. REQUESTS: On behalf of the members of this organization, community and on my own behalf therefore request you to: I. Help and be disbursing money in time especially in these two terms (1st and 2nd) when our services are highly demanded by primary and secondary schools. II. Help and link us to other friends who can give in addition support both financial and equipment which shall help us address other needs which may come as extra to the current ones. This will also help in the movement of CDTS FC to the Big league when they promote. Thanks for continuous support, without you, CDTS could not have existed.
