24.08.2014 Press Release Subject:- I strongly condemn, castigate and decry the witch hunt and vendetta being pursued against Sant Baljit Singh Daduwal, by the feudal and tyrant Badals :- Khaira I strongly condemn and castigate the feudal and tyrant Badals for victimizing Baljit Singh Daduwal Sant Samaj leader and member of HSGMC, merely because he has the audacity to politically oppose them and was instrumental in the formation of Haryana Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee. The current opposition of SAD-BJP candidate in the just concluded Talwandi Sabo by-poll, is the immediate cause of Sant Daduwal’s witch hunt by the Badals. The dictatorial Badals unable to digest his dissent and opposition are now misusing state power, particularly the police by digging out old cases and falsely implicating him. As per information available, although Sant Daduwal was arrested from his Kotshamir Gurudwara premises, the police under political pressure has concocted his arrest from a ‘Naka’ near Jaito. Now toeing the line of vendetta under the direction from the Badal duo, the police is digging out old cases to further intimidate, coerce and threaten him not to oppose the ruling dispensation. The police has now opened two more old cases of attempt to murder against him pertaining to the years 2009 and 2011. In one of the cases pertaining to the Dera Sacha Sauda vs Sikh clashes, the police had dropped charges against him calling it a “pro active measure and a good will gesture to ensure peace”, because this move suited the Badals then. Similarly, in the other case too, Sant Daduwal was released by the police on March 25, 2009, saying his custody was not required, but the same police is now seeking his arrest again in the said old cases. Sant Daduwal may be known for his radical and hardline posturing on Sikh issues, but his human rights cannot be violated by SAD-BJP govt., just because he is opposing the Badals under their very nose in Bathinda. Therefore, I urge Mr. Badal not to personalize each issue, be it the shoe throwing by an unemployed Vikram Singh or the present Sant Daduwal case. Mr. Badal and his arrogant autocrat son Sukhbir Badal are warned against misusing the Punjab police, as their private army to settle personal political scores.
