24-HOUR PUBLIC WEATHER FORECAST Issued at: 5:00PM 24August 2013 SYNOPSIS: At 4:00 pm today, the Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated based on all available data at 330 km East of Surigao City (10.2 ºN, 128.9 ºE) embedded along the Monsoon trough affecting Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. FORECAST: Eastern Visayas and the province of Surigao will experience cloudy skies with moderate to ocassionally heavy rainshowers and thunderstorms which may trigger flashfloods and landslides. Bicol region, MIMAROPA and the rest of Visayas and of Mindanao will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms. Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms. Moderate to strong winds blowing from the Southwest to South will prevail over Luzon and its coastal waters will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the Southwest to West with slight to moderate seas.
