TODAY and only today, June 19th until midnight, United Ways Do More 24 campaign will help nonprofit organizations like Embrace Loudoun to create community change. Do More 24 is a truly homegrown, local event. All the money raised here, stays here. Last year, donors contributed $1.3 million to 500 local nonprofits for this innovative day of giving. We are hoping to use our Do More 24 funds to do something really exciting. With your support, you can: Help families have new starts, emerging stronger than they were before their crises. What would $24 do? Feed a family of 4 for 2 days. What would $48 do? Provide blankets and sheets for a family moving out of the homeless shelter into a new home. What would $96 do? Provide a kitchen essentials pack (pots, pans, utensils) for a family moving out of the homeless shelter into a new home. Help youth become more resilient and thrive. What would $24 do? Buy 24 books for Pre K - 2nd grade students enrolled in our summer Read & Run remedial and enrichment program. What would $48 do? Buy 48 books for 3rd - 5th grade students enrolled in our summer Read & Run remedial and enrichment program. What would $96 do? Provide food in 12 students backpacks to fill a weekly gap since they do not receive school provided breakfasts and lunches when away from school during the summer.
