This is the result of research conducted jointly German and Serbian experts last summer on the site and in 2002 discovered the prof. Dr. Milorad Stojic from the Archaeological Institute. Culture of Lepenski Vir and Belice have existed around the same time, but were significantly different. Lepenci were still hunter-gatherers while Beličani were farmers, which is mostly found figurine with symbolic representations of male and female reproductive organs, pregnant women, mothers with children - says Professor Stojic. - Stone items are in original design and made the extraordinary artistic level of fine rocks and different colors, rich textures. It is obvious that the figurines were dedicated to the cult of fertility, which is characteristic of farming communities that worship the mother earth. On figures from Belice represented all stages of creation and development of the human fetus from conception to birth. These performances have never been so far recorded in the artistic creation of mankind, since it originated 38,000 years BC. Geophysical surveys in 2012 on the site of Belica have revealed a prehistoric village surrounded by a circular moat diameter of 75 meters. In this circle were found in circular, trapezoidal and triangular foundations of monumental buildings, what have so far not found in their early Neolithic settlements. - To prove that it is a spiritual center that has the same importance for protostarčevačku community, whats in the late Mesolithic was the religious center of Lepenski vir - said prof. Dr. Stojic. He points out that research on Belici carried out in cooperation with the University of Tübingen, who will issue a bilingual monograph in German and Serbian Belica, the most numerous group finding cultural and artistic plastic from the stone age and the oldest spiritual center of Neolithic Europe.
