25 YAERS OF DTDC Dated: 26th July 2014 Volume 860 “Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success .” – Henry Ford 25 Years Of DTDC 2000: Opening of DTDC US, UK and Dubai offices: DTDC has strategic tie-ups and business arrangements with key global players to provide services in more than 240 countries around the world. In addition to this, DTDC has extended its service network around the world through its own subsidiary offices, joint ventures, representative offices and franchisees abroad. While UK offices caters to the European market, our US and Canada offices cover the American continent. Singapore office serves Asia-Pacific Region, and the Dubai office manages the Middle East countries 2003: Revenue crossed the 100-cr. mark: 2005-06: Anil Ambani buying 44% stake in DTDC Courier & Cargo. 2007: Revenue crossed the 200-cr. mark: 2010: Established subsidiary company DTDC Retail Ltd. and its Convenience Services concept brand DTDC New World; SAP implemented; Revenue crossed the 300-cr. mark 2012-13:. DTDC Courier & Cargo acquired a 53% stake in UAE-based Eurostar Express. The acquisition allowed DTDC to combine its strength with Eurostar and penetrate and consolidate its presence all over the Middle East,including GCC and MENA areas. This also made DTDC the first Indian Express company that made an international acquisition. DTDC covers Turkey, Kenya and Oman through a network of business associates and master franchisees. Important SAARC countries like Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan and Sri Lanka are managed by key business associates and are serviced from India. The company is in the process of setting up joint ventures in Australia and Germany to cater to the express distribution needs of customers in those countries. DTDC’s international services comprise of delivery services for both documents & parcels, covering almost all countries around the globe. DTDC in April 2013 announced the acquisition of Bangalore-based Nikkos with majority stake in the company. 70% is owned by DTDC and 30% by the Bangalore-based Nikkos Logistics. The new entity was called “DTDC Nikkos International Logistics. On 5th July 2013 we DTDC inducted GeoPost S.A as the new shareholders of the company replacing Reliance Private Equity who had been the partners for the last 7 years. AWARDS DTDC has been honored with several awards and recognitions by the industry that has established it as one of the leading Express, Distribution & Logistics companies in India. Some of the recent awards and recognitions include: DTDC Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) Mr. Subhasish Chakraborty was awarded the Rashtriya Udyog Ratna Award by National Education & Human Resource Development Organization (NEHRDO) in 2012, in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the society, economy of the country and the national life. DTDC was conferred with “Best Express Distribution Service Award” by one of the most reputed government organizations, IIMM (Indian Institute of Materials Management) amongst the industry giants for the most competitive and qualitative services. Mr. Chakraborty was awarded the Entrepreneur of the Year (Consumer Services) Award for 2011 by Franchise India Holdings Ltd. and Bloomberg/UTV for his continuous contribution in the field of Consumer Service. Global Golden Indian Award and Gold Medal for the year 2011 by Institute of Economic Studies recognizing Mr. Subhasish Chakraborty’s contribution to the Trade, Industry and Economical Development of the country. DTDC received the Best Franchisor Award in the country under the category Courier & Cargo for five consecutive years from 2005 to 2009 and in 2011 by Franchising World, a part of Franchise India Holdings Ltd. Recognized at Small Business Awards 2011 (2nd National Awards for Small Business & Entrepreneurship) for the category of “Transport and Logistics Business of the Year”, organized by Franchise India and Zee Business. Mr. Chakraborty received the prestigious Udyog Rattan Award by Institute of Economic Studies for outstanding performance in industrial development in the country for the year 2009.
