25 years ago today, I was diagnosed with cancer for the first time. Ive had 2 subsequent battles, in 2000 and 2009. Today is also my 5 year anniversary of my stem cell transplant. I am cancer free..wow, I am cancer free. I am so grateful to say that. Life is good. The bald head, weight loss, congestive heart failure, and financial ruin were only tiny prices to pay for todays glory. But it is never lost on me those who do not win their battle.... my Dad, Aunt Patty, RaRa, Nick, Ian, Aunt Viv, Miss Nelida, Mrs. Schmidt, Mrs. Collins, and so many others... In fact, a piece of my heart stood still whenever I learned of their fate. ......Yet somehow, I try to rejoice in the good news... Uncle Bill, Margie, Meaghan, L Hart, Jami, Lindy, Kara, Becky, Derek, J Townes, Amiracle, and Kevin, all being cancer free......that is amazing! For those still fighting, my prayers are very long for you. Thank you for reading this post. I am incredibly thankful to my husband, my rock, my love, and the best head coach ever...and to all my friends and family who have loved me and encouraged me.. I pray that I can be a blessing to you as you have been to me. Happy Thanksgiving, Happy Everything! And please, never, ever, ever, ever, ever give up.
