#2669 Now for a very controversial and most likely despised confession. There are so many hypocritical stereotypes made against white people everyday and its so freaking annoying. As a blonde white female, I am almost always on the receiving end of these comments. I understand that there are other really racist comments made about other ethnic groups all the time, because this is a major problem in todays society. Putting down other races is stupid and extremely offensive; its not like they picked their race that they were born into. However, its frustrating that making fun of white people is just a social norm. Not a day goes by that I dont hear, Haha youre such a white girl, Shut up white girl, Of course you like Starbucks, youre white. Every white girl drinks Starbucks, White people these days, Obviously you have good grades, youre white, the list goes on. Why do I need to be singled out because of the color of my skin? If I ever dared to say Shut up, Mexican, I can surely expect to be punched. But why, then, am I supposed to accept the annoyance of being labeled white girl? Being on the receiving end of racism in no way entitles you to then distribute the same racism. ...The problem with stereotypes is not that they are untrue, but that they are incomplete. They make one story become the only story... The consequence of the single story is this: it robs people of their dignity... It emphasizes how we are different rather than how we are similar.
