26Jul05-Mumbai was underwater. As water rose, my spouse Neha in nick of time abandoned her car which later was submerged beyond salvage. Today being 26Jul again reminds me of that day when we could not connect on phone as all cell sites were down & I did not know what was happening to her. Fortunately she could find a refuge in some recording studio & later the following day my phone rang out of the blue. I could get a faint network signal and I finally spoke to her. She had to walk miles in flooded roads from Bandra to Chembur where I could finally meet her, hug her, kiss her & take her back home. I know of so many similar stories of anticipation & despair.
