27 Seconds From Home Last evening just before sunset, I decided - TopicsExpress

27 Seconds From Home Last evening just before sunset, I decided to test my brand new lens. Never in my 35 years of photography have I owned a fisheye lens. After reading Gordon Laings review of this awesome & inexpensive Korean made lens, I figured its about time I get with the program! The lens in question is the Rokinor 7.5mm fisheye. Im a Fan! So after walking across the street I arrived at this spot, set my Olympus EM-1 for a handheld 3 shot bracket HDR and ripped off the frames looking down the first fairway of the Crow Canyon Country Club. This lens and I are going to get along great! At 7.5mm its equivalent to a 15mm lens on full frame sensors and the fisheyeness I can use creatively to add a little, or a lot, of whimsy to my work. Even though its strictly a manual lens, with glass this wide you dont really need to focus. The depth of field is so great that its almost inconsequential, so the manual focus & aperture work out fine and keep the price most affordable at about $300. It arrived in time to go in my bag for next weeks road trip to southern Utah for a few days of landscape photography. The other thing I realized while shooting this... is how lucky I am to live in the midst of this beauty. For me to stand in this spot is merely a 27 second walk from my front door. #olympus #HDR #golfcourse
