27 years ago today, Jaco Pastorius, a controversial and brilliant musician, passed away...Despite his struggles with bi-polar disorder and addiction, he was an incredibly creative person, an innovator of the bass guitar, and a musical influence on millions of musicians, myself included. He came across as a really likeable, positive, energetic soul...He proclaimed himself the greatest bass player in the world, and gave us the quote, It aint braggin if you can back it up!
