2nd Period Report: Hawks - 1 & Predators - 4 Sigh. The train wreck continues. The Hawks are the ones playing like they just took on Pittsburgh last night instead of the Preds. It was has been quite painful to watch at times, what with all of the wasted power plays and offensive opportunities. But there just might be a light at the end of the tunnel. The Hawks offense picked-up right where they left off at the end of the last period, not really doing much. They had moments of aggression, particularly during the last power play and of course when Kane scored. Overall though, the offense wasnt generating much trouble for the Preds. goaltender to deal with. Their passing was crappy and their performance at the dot wasnt much better. Kane managed to score late, after snagging the puck in a turnover and that seemed to energize the Hawks for the last 2 minutes. Defense wise, the Hawks were about the same, with Crawford letting two goal in past him, though must be shared with other members of the team, in particular Kruger (whose turnover in the Hawks end led to the 4th goal). Crawford had a number of nice saves that prevented the score from being even more lopsided. Keys to the Game: The Hawks offense must play like they did the last 2 minutes, throwing pucks on net and taking shots from all angles. The Hawks defense has got to start hitting the Preds. offense whenever they tough the puck and work doubly hard at keeping the puck out from in front of the net. Crawford cant win this came all by himself. Also, hopefully all of the hard work of the past 40 minutes has had a tiring effect on the Preds. If the Hawks play like they did the last 2 minutes of the period, then this game is still winnable by them. In Coach Q We Trust. GO HAWKS!!!!
