3/4/5774 (2014) This topic is not popular with some... regardless God has FULL control of everything! For the Scripture today -I used the New Living Translation Bible and compared it to the New King James Version. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Romans chapter 9 discusses a nature of God that a lot of people do not want to hear about. Before the foundation of the world, all things were written in His Book to include who is chosen to various positions - in the secular world or for His kingdom through Christ Jesus. Before a person is born, God already chose that same person according to HIS purpose whether to salvation or to eternal fate without Him, past or present. (there is a reason for this, Its Gods mercy. Let Gods word explain below) God tells us that He does not see between race, religion, nationality or gender. God is not partial but He has a STANDARD of holliness and has all authority in who He chooses to use for His glory. He is the Great Creator and we are His clay. We are finite and He is INFINITE. He works all things for good.. Romans 8:28 (NKJV) 28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- God uses a GREAT example of this concept in Romans 9:10-16 NLT 10 This son was our ancestor Isaac. When he married Rebekah, she gave birth to twins. 11 But before they were born, before they had done anything good or bad, she received a message from God. (This message shows that God chooses people according to his own purposes; 12 he calls people, but not according to their good or bad works.) She was told, “Your older son will serve your younger son. 13 In the words of the Scriptures, “I loved Jacob, but I rejected Esau.” 14 Are we saying, then, that God was unfair? Of course not! 15 For God said to Moses, “I will show mercy to anyone I choose, and I will show compassion to anyone I choose.” 16 So it is God who decides to show mercy. We can neither choose it nor work for it. This particular story originates from the original promise of Abraham (the geneology of Jesus Christ the promised Messiah) in Genesis chapters 12, 15, 17 & 18 and correlates with the story of Isaac and Rebekah in the 25th chapter of Genesis. Where two nations arose from one womans womb: Jacob(Israel) and Esau(Arab nations) The original promise was to the seed of Abrahams son -- Isaac(grandfather of Jacob/Israel) and the Messiah would stem from him. ****The truth is Sarah was impatient(works of the flesh) for God to give Abraham his promised heir so she gave her (Egyptian) maid to Abraham to lie with and she conceived the firstborn Ishmael (who was not of the promise God made with Abraham). God then goes on to tell Abraham that Ishmael was not the intended seed for the Promise given to Abraham but that Ishmaels seed would be blessed and THEY HAVE THE EQUAL choice to accept Jesus Christ today! Today we can see the Arab nations are very wealthy and they have kingdoms, But this too is for Gods glory in the end. We can read the conversations about this BETWEEN Abraham and God in Genesis 15:1-6 and 17:16-21 -------------------------------------------------------------------- The POINT is: God has used evil and good kings who ruled in ancient times FOR HIS purpose AND He uses todays regular people, Prime Ministers, kings, presidents, leaders of nations, chosen Jewish and Gentile people for His purpose and glory. God chooses to show His mercy to all peoples but their hearts are hardened and they refuse Him. How can we say to our creator - I dont need you or I dont believe you exist or I am my own god... God is so merciful, even though some reject Him, He loves us and is merciful to forgive them --if they turn to Him. Romans 9:25-28 NLT 25 Concerning the Gentiles, God says in the prophecy of Hosea, “Those who were not my people, I will now call my people. And I will love those whom I did not love before.” 26 And, “Then, at the place where they were told, ‘You are not my people,’ there they will be called ‘children of the living God.’” 27 And concerning Israel, Isaiah the prophet cried out, “Though the people of Israel are as numerous as the sand of the seashore, only a remnant will be saved. 28 For the Lord will carry out his sentence upon the earth quickly and with finality.” ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Conclusion: God is so holy, but Mighty at the same time. He is merciful on those who call out to Him. Today He is asking, Will you accept My Son Jesus Christ as your vessel of Salvation? Acts 4:12 The choice is ours and so is the destination. This is Truth, Truth be told.
