3 days of Gun Violence no official statement from Gov. Today there is a walkout of Parliament to protest the words of the Opposition Leader ? Wow, are you serious !I am disappointed in our Country. Dont believe this is a rant at the OBA, it is not ! When will we see that we must be the change we want and need to see ? Yesterday I learned that a close friend cowered in her car with two kids as armed police searched her neighbourhood for an armed gunman. To be clear I am not referring to Trench town, Gaza, Syria or Chicago. I am talking about Mount Hill Pembroke, Bermuda. my friends girls are irrevocably scared by the incident. Tuesdays shooting (4 people injured) took place in Somerset in close proximity to 3 schools and there has been no statement from the Acting Commissioner of Education. When will we stand and say enough is enough ? We cant blame the police, the perpetrators are our sons... black Men, when will we raise our sons ? When will we stand ? We are the most impotent segment of our country ! We wont lead ! we wont hold ourselves accountable... We are now seeing the fruit of our lack of involvement, the lack of our guidance, the lack of our loving and nurturing home environment... Calling the talk shows ? Yes that has its place, Marches, yes they have a purpose... Then what ?We must dig deep and reclaim our country. Find your son, nephew, God son... Hold him accountable ! Mothers, you know even if you pretend not to, what your son is doing ! Girlfriends, Acegirl and Childs Mother, you also know what the streets are saying... Be a force for change ! Stop fueling the fire. We now have to work on saving the young generation of Bermudian men and women... I am committed to being a part of the solution ! parliamentarians, we need you to focus on the country ! Stop with the petty stuff ! Get Back to work !
