(30) Preston North End 2-1 Walsall Half an hour gone and the Lilywhites have restored their lead at Deepdale. North End won a corner when Chris Humphreys through ball for Scott Wiseman deflected off a Walsall player and rolled out of play. From the set-piece, Joe Garner forced a diving save from Richard ODonnell with a stopping header. Minutes later, Garner was fouled by Walsalls James Chambers and the Lilywhites were awarded a free kick down the left. Gallagher stepped up to take the set-piece and his cross almost met the head of Bailey Wright, but was instead flicked out of play by a Walsall head. After the visitors cleared the resulting corner, Scott Wiseman almost sold Declan Rudd short with a back pass, meaning Brandy was inches away from nipping in front of the North End keeper. Luckily for Wiseman, Prestons No. 23 got to the ball first. Minutes later, North End restored their lead when Bailey Wright nodded home from a Paul Gallagher free-kick.
