343 firefighters, 43 EMTs and paramedics, 37 Port Authority - TopicsExpress

343 firefighters, 43 EMTs and paramedics, 37 Port Authority officers, 23 police officers, 1 K9 all died while helping others. There was no hesitation and no thought for their own personal safety. They were guided by a sense of duty to serve and protect the public, as well as thousands of hours of training and years of experience. So the next time you get angry at the police officer that gives you a ticket for running a stop sign; or yell at the firefighter for blocking traffic while his crew extricates someone from a vehicle; or refuse to pull to the right for the ambulance thats either going to the scene of someone in need or transporting a critically ill or injured patient to the hospital; or scream at the 911/police dispatcher because its taking FOREVER!, remember it was the same type of people who died 13 years ago today helping total strangers. Those same type of people are serving you in your community. Please, have a little respect.
