36 Pit fire is currently at 2358 acres and 0% contained per NWCC ...we are receiving calls about the smoke in the air and questions about evacuations..if you are within the affected area and wish to be notified for evacuations go to CCEM and register your phone number. Be aware of family members or neighbors who may be at risk for breathing related issues and take appropriate precautions. Again, please do not call 911 for general information regarding the situation or to report smoke in the air. Do call 911 if you see flames associated with smoke or are having a medical issue such as difficulty breathing. Please stay out of the area, the imagery is beautiful and calling out to sight seers, photographers and the curious, but it is dangerous and your presence could be a distraction for the firefighters.
