3rd Degree was very moving tonight. The Banaz Mahmod story.. an Iraqi Kurdish girl murdered in the U.K by her ferociously backward relatives in their idea of an oxymoronic honour killing. If you missed it, it can be watched as the Emmy winning documentary called Bajaz: A Love Story by activist and talented film maker Deeyah.. louisereviews/reviews/movies/banaz-a-love-story/ Curious as to why 3rd Degree only decided to air a story like this that occurred in 2005, and made into a documentary in 2012 now? Given the dreadful level of domestic violence against women and children we already experience in NZ, I am glad this story was aired here as a warning to watch out for it in our recent immigrant/ refugee families here to protect their women too.. Please note as I did on the 3rd Degree wall it is not just an extreme Islamic form of barbarism..
