3rd straight warm start to the work week. Mon 10/27 80°, last Monday 66°, 62° city at 4 PM. This level warmth will fade fast much like the past 3 weeks with the passage of a cold front early Tuesday afternoon. No rain tonight - but showers are likely by noon Tuesday as the front sweeps the state. Temps will fall sharply as winds shift to the northwest by early afternoon. This cold front means business. Single digit wind chill temps have arrived northwest and that cold surges south in the next 24 hours. Afternoon temperatures will not reach 40° rest of the week and perhaps well into next week - running 20 degrees below normal. While not record breaking cold, what is impressive is the prolonged spell of cold coming. A resurgent blast of cold comes in behind some snow Sunday This December-level chill may hold for next 2 weeks! More on the snow, flurries are possible Thursday but a minor system Sunday may have enough moisture to produce some accumulation. We will be following all of the cold details closely through the week.
