4:00 GAMES, Sunday Night Game, & Monday Night game to be shared tomorrow. Dallas vs Kansas City 1:00 PM EST Must Starts (T. Romo QB DAL, D. Murray RB DAL, D. Bryant WR DAL, M. Austin* WR DAL, J. Witten* TE DAL, J. Charles RB KC, D. Bowe WR KC) Maybe Starts (A. Smith QB KC, DAL D/ST) Sneaky Play – D. Avery WR KC You’re starting anyone in the Dallas Offense quite frankly. Only question mark would be the health of Dez Bryant which shouldn’t really alarm any of his owners. The Chiefs secondary is pretty good but I think with the way Murray has been running so far, Romo should be able to find his receivers pretty often. I look for real nice days out of Miles Austin and Jamal Charles. NOTES** Miles Austin had a career day the last time he faced Kansas City. 10 catches for 250 yards and 2 TD, including the 60 yarder in OT for the win. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- St. Louis vs Atlanta 1: 00 PM EST Must Starts (M. Ryan QB ATL, S. Jackson ATL, J. Jones* WR ATL, T. Gonzalez TE ATL, J. Cook* TE STL) Maybe Starts (S. Bradford QB STL, D. Richardson RB STL, R. White WR ATL, C. Givens WR STL, STL D/ST, ATL D/ST Sneaky Play – H. Douglas WR ATL ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- This game is filled with no brainer starters. Jared Cook for the Rams, should have a very good day. It really looks as if Sam Bradford likes the chemistry they had vs Arizona. Roddy White, in my opinion, should not be started this week. I have him in as “maybe” but the truth of the matter is, he is terribly unhealthy right now. If you are very desperate, you can play him and hope to get a long reception, maybe even a red zone TD. Other than that, there is no upside to starting him, especially against a pesky, young St Louis Defense. Harry Douglas is in as my sneaky play, but in no means is this guy under the radar. He had a very nice game vs New Orleans but still shouldn’t be really started in WR 1 or 2 spots in any standard format. Again, if desperate, go ahead and give him a whirl. He might be the beneficiary of Julio and Tony G getting all the attention again. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Carolina vs Buffalo 1:00 PM EST Must Starts (C. Newton* QB CAR, S. Smith* WR CAR, G. Olsen TE CAR, CJ Spiller* RB BUF) Maybe Starts (S. Johnson WR BUF, D. Williams RB CAR, EJ Manuel QB BUF) Sneaky Play – CAR D/ST Not too much to say about this matchup. All I can say is I expect Cam Newton to do pretty well. Carolina should be able to move the ball with ease. Smith and Olsen are very good plays this week. Carolina Defense looked very stingy on the road vs Seattle. I can see them making some nice plays vs a very below average Buffalo team. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Minnesota vs Chicago 1:00 PM EST Must starts (A. Peterson* RB MIN, B. Marshall* WR CHI, M. Forte RB CHI, CHI D/ST*) Maybe Starts (J. Cutler QB CHI, K. Rudolph TE MIN, A. Jeffery WR CHI) Sneaky Play – J. Simpson WR MIN Two fantasy beasts are featured in this game. Adrian Peterson is arguably the greatest running back of our generation and is a must start even when going against the Israeli Army. Brandon Marshall should have a great day as well. He had 8 receptions for 104 yards and a TD the last time they met and that should swell as new head coach, Marc Trestman will want to air it out as much as possible to his big receiver. Stay away from Christian Ponder as he has not done well fantasy-wise vs Chicago in his brief career. NOTES*** Brandon Marshall was targeted 37 times and caught 22 balls for 252 yards and a TD against Minnesota in ‘12. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Washington vs Green Bay 1:00 PM EST Must Starts (A. Morris RB WSH, R. Griffin QB WSH, A. Rodgers* QB GB, R. Cobb* WR GB, J. Nelson* WR GB, E. Lacy RB GB, J. Jones WR GB, J. Finley [If healthy]) Maybe Starts – NONE Sneaky Play – L. Hankerson WR WSH Its Green Bay. Not much to say. You’re starting everyone and with ease. The only concern is I would monitor Finley. He was very limited in Practices this week but he should be fine. As far as Washington goes, RG3 had a pretty bad opener to say the least, but finished with some respectable numbers. Look for Washington to try and keep Green Bay off the field as much as possible by controlling the clock with the run game. Morris is more than capable of shouldering a big load off of RG3 shoulders. If Green Bay gets ahead here early, RG3 might be forced into some uncomfortable situations. Be wary on him but its too early to pull the plug. L. Hankerson could rip one deep but he has no value other than a D. Henderson-type receiver. NOTES***Washington also gave up the 5th most fantasy points to opposing QB in Week 1. Aaron Rodgers after a tough loss? At home? Uh-oh J. Finley did not practice much this so far this week. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Miami vs Indianapolis 1:00 PM EST Must Starts (A. Luck QB IND, R. Wayne* WR IND, TY Hilton WR IND, M. Wallace WR MIA, Miami D/ST) Maybe Starts (R. Tannehill QB MIA, L. Miller RB MIA, B. Hartline WR MIA, A. Bradshaw/V. Ballard RB IND) Sneaky Play – C. Fleener TE IND I am not going out on a limb here, and many will agree, that the Miami Dolphins did not run the ball effectively. In fact, that might be the biggest understatement of the century. They did horribly. Lamar Miller and Daniel Thomas combined for 20 yards, with Rookie Miller accruing 3 of them. Needless to say, I think they do a MUCH better job vs an average Indianapolis front 7. Owners of Miller (myself included) need not tear out their hair just yet. Its only week 2 and its only a matter of time before Miller separates himself as the clear cut feature back. Thomas just isn’t very good. Not sure if it was a motivational tactic by Philbin to hand the ball to Thomas when they were on the goal line, but I see Miller doing very well vs Indianapolis. Luck should be his usual self and be efficient. Mike Wallace is poised for a break out game in a Dolphin uniform and I believe OC Mike Sherman will try and get him the ball and YAC opportunities early on. NOTES***Andrew Luck went 30 of 48 for an NFL rookie-record 433 yards and two touchdowns vs the Dolphins last season ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cleveland vs Baltimore 1:00 PM EST Must Starts (T. Richardson* RB CLE, J. Cameron TE CLE, R. Rice* RB BAL, T. Smith WR BAL, Baltimore D/ST, Cleveland D/ST) Maybe Starts (J. Flacco, QB BAL) Sneaky Play – Marlon Brown WR BAL Its always a nasty game when these two teams get together. Baltimore finally gets to raise the banner in front of their rabid fans when Cleveland comes to town. Both of these teams can run the ball pretty well and believe you me, Cleveland will be trying to run it with T-Rich as often as physically possible. Cleveland’s defense will also be a great play in this game as they will get tons of pressure on Flacco in my opinon. Torrey Smith might be bottled up by All-Pro cornerback J. Haden which might leave my sneaky play, M. Brown, to get a few deep balls hurled his way from Superbowl MVP Flacco. Most of the starters are no brainers but chances are you have better fantasy QB’s than Weeden and Flacco. If you don’t, invite me to play next year NOTES***O-Lineman M. Oher may not play due to an ankle injury*** ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tennessee vs Houston Must Starts (A. Foster, A. Johnson*, D. Hopkins, O. Daniels, Houston D/ST) Maybe Starts (C. Johnson, N. Washington, B. Tate) Sneaky Play – K. Wright ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Until further notice, Arian Foster is still the big steer in H-Town. I know he hasn’t looked very good in pre season nor in San Diego Monday, but he is rusty. He is still a dominant RB when he is on his game. Is this the beginning of his decline? Maybe. But if you drafted Foster, you better have drafted Tate. I cant remember a more important handcuff in my years playing fantasy. If for some reason Foster cant find his game (and I highly doubt he wont) then Tate will be a very beastly play every week. Also, look for rookie D. Hopkins out of Clemson to make a splash in this divisional clash. M. Schaub targeted the rookie 6 times, connecting on 5 of them for 66 yards. I look for that number to only get bigger as the season goes on. He is quite a talent. If you were fortunate enough to draft him (because of my advice of course) then you will benefit greatly. NOTES*** Houston gets back newly acquired, and future Hall Of Fame Safety, Ed Reed as well as DE Antonio Smith. Could be a tough day for Locker and the Titans
