40 DAYS OF PRAYER AS WE MOVE TOWARD 3 SUNDAY SERVICES Day 26: Saturday, August 24 Church Visioning Workshop Proverbs 29:18 Where there is no vision, the people perish (KJV). Where there is no revelation, people cast off restraint (NIV). Where there is no word from God, people are uncontrolled (NCV). A variety of translations have made a stab at coming up with the best English way to communicate this Hebrew proverb. Still, the meaning comes through loud and clear in each one: without a vision, a revelation, a word from God, we will live uncontrolled, unrestrained, ever perishing lives. Through the Fruitful Congregations Journey, our church has been blessed to have church consultant Dan Glover serve as a coach to our pastor Mark Ellcessor, as Mark guides the church into the future. As part of that, Dan is coming to lead our congregation in a Church Visioning Workshop, so that we may capture and articulate God’s vision for us as a church. Pray for Dan, Mark, the staff, the church board, and the rest of our congregation as we go through a period of discernment, listening for God’s vision, revelation, and word for us. Entrust the whole church to the Lord’s care and guidance. Pray especially for our church leaders, that they may indeed capture and articulate God’s vision for our church.
