40 Days of Prayer….Day 8 But I have this [one charge to make] against you: that you have left (abandoned) the love that you had at first [you have deserted Me, your first love]. Remember then from what heights you have fallen. Repent (change the inner man to meet God’s will) and do the works you did previously [when first you knew the Lord], or else I will visit you and remove your lamp stand from its place, unless you change your mind and repent.” Rev. 2: 4-5 AMP Father, forgive us individually and as a Church, for leaving our first love and allowing the things of this world to come in and take our focus off of You. Holy Spirit, bring conviction to the Church and draw us back to that love that captivated us when we first received You, as our personal Lord and Savior. That heart felt repentance that produced a radical change and transformation in our lives. Let that deep love and appreciation for You, rise up in us. We repent of sin, complacency, apathy, and compromise. Lord, we need to stir up the gift within ourselves and become passionately in love with You again, fervently go after You, and completely sell out to You. Time is short and we must return to our first love. We lift up every church, Pastor, leader, and individual today and we pray that the fire of God that once burned brightly, will be rekindled. Lord, we need You! Help us to seek Your face relentlessly and turn our hearts wholeheartedly towards You. We repent and ask that You revisit us, because we desperately need Your presence and power in our lives and churches, once again. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
