400 years young; in a world of 24/7 misinformation & ergo eternal banality, some genuine Truth, which we will not see so intensely, briefly & succinctly so well spoken again. Even the peasants understood it back in the day. Oh well. It turns out, ironically, Progress is not always Progress. From Hamlet; Prince of Denmark: Act II; Scene 2 - and here acted out from that most wonderous of drunken comedy films, Withnail & I, where Richard E. Grant (a South African by birth, speaking to wolves, probably english) and (slightly edited) with bottle of wine in hand & loaded, lets loose the knowledge that the film we just watched was not in fact a comedy, but a tragedy. Which it is. I have of late, (but wherefore I know not) lost all my mirth, forgone all custom of exercises; and indeed, it goes so heavily with my disposition; that this goodly frame the earth, seems to me a sterile promontory; this most excellent canopy the air, look you, this brave oer hanging firmament, this majestical roof, fretted with golden fire: why, it appeareth no other thing to me, than a foul and pestilent congregation of vapours. What a piece of work is a man! How noble in reason, how infinite in faculty! In form and moving how express and admirable! In action how like an Angel! in apprehension how like a god! The beauty of the world! The paragon of animals! And yet to me, what is this quintessence of dust? Man delights not me; no, nor Woman neither; though by your smiling you seem to say so ps - I also adore Tommy Cooper.
