423 hill villages covered by 19 police stations MU NEWS/IMPHAL, July 14 : Nineteen police stations in the valley area have been covering a total of 423 hill villages. Manipur’s home minister said in a written reply to an unstarred question by Naga People’s Front MLA Samuel Risom of Ukhrul seat during the question and answer session of the ongoing state assembly in Imphal today. The police stations include Sekmai, Lamlai, Irilbung, Jiribam, Borobekra, Andro, Yaingangpokpi, Sagolmang, Lilong, Thoubal, Kakching, Waikhong, Yairipok, Sugunu, Nambol, Bishnupur, Kumbi, Moirang and Loktak. Replying to another unstarred question, Home minister also informed that 120 hill villages under Churachandpur district have been paying hill house tax as well as land revenue under Manipur Land Revenue and Land Records Act. A sum of Rs 65,04,644 was collected as land revenue from these villages.
