4TH OF LIE DAY...HOW MANY OF YALL WILL CELEBRATE THIS NOT KNOWING WHY. JUST SO YOU CAN BE WITH THE IN CROWD WILL LEAVE YOU IN AND STUCK...WAKE UP PEOPLE WISH YOU ALL WILL CELEBRATE SOMETHING MEANINGFULL. this is a holiday that should mean absolutely nothing to ANY black person. whose independence was gained? not my forefathers. while america was celebrating their independence, we were steadily being shipped over. shipped in cramped disease ridden ships, with little to no food. its ironic, freedom and slavery at the same time. one, would think they(white people) would understand the correlation and handle it accordingly. they were freed, but wont free. damn, what a concept! black people didnt gain their freedom for about a 100 more years, and that wasnt really freedom. to answer your question, i dont know why we, as a whole celebrate the 4th. i personally dont celebrate it. its meaningless for me, and should be for all black people. we gained nothing from it. well, if you want to call, even more of us were brought over. more of us were killed. more of us lost self knowledge. more of us lost our true religion and beliefs. and more of us were assimilated into this society, a gain, i dont want it! or need it.
