5/1/2014 - 7 am: An extended period of unsettled weather is expected from today right to about early next week. Rain is expected throughout the day today with rainfall amounts of between one half (0.50) and three quarters (0.75) of an inch. In addition, some embedded thunderstorms this afternoon will bring periods of heavy rain along with a rumble or two of thunder. The rain is expected to move out of the area by this evening, however, low clouds, fog and drizzle can be expected tonight. On Friday, there will be lots of clouds around along with areas of fog. In addition, widespread shower activity can be expected throughout the day Friday. Saturday is expected to be generally mostly cloudy and there may be a couple of showers possible during Saturday afternoon. Another slug of rain is expected from Sunday afternoon through Sunday night as another storm system moves across northern Maine. That storm system will be very slow to move out; therefore, widespread showers are expected on Monday and scattered showers expected on Tuesday. Things finally dry out on Wednesday with partly sunny skies expected.
