5/12/14 UPDATED 6:19 AM Chris Irons on our Facebook site reports: 10 blues to 7-8 pounds. Sp minnow and Crocodile Spoons just after high tide and sunset on Island Beach State Park far north. Missed two big weakfish in the wash, probably about 10 pounds or more. One skate on bunker, nothing on clams and saw no bass as usual with a south wind. I missed a bunker snag twice, they were heading south very fast with blues on them. Again, going into the wind. Thats fishing. Fun until it got dark. Mosquitos are horrible at sunset. I suggest sweat shirt and thin waders and bug spray. Peace! P.s. Kept 3 released the rest. Matthew Mezger Jr. on our Facebook site reports: Just finishing up our trip on the island, been here since 4:30pm caught hand full of blowfish, some small bass up to 24 inches and and a school of blues that passed by during the outgoing tide a couple hits but popped off.
