5 Quick Questions with....... (As you can see we are kicking this segment off with Us, the founders of FAC!!) Jenni Booth: Freelance Stylist & Co-Founder of Find A Creative 1: What advice would you give to anyone aspiring to do your job? Being an assistant is the first and most important step in becoming a Stylist. It is where the foundations are laid for your future. How you lay this groundwork is up to you. Being a great assistant will ensure you lots of work, which inturn gives you lots of experience. The more experience you have, the more confident you will be at going out on your own as a Stylist. On the flip side, if you don’t perform well as an assistant you will simply not get booked again – ‘Word of Mouth’ in this industry is highly valued. Whilst at times it might feel like you are a small part in the big picture on a photographic production, it is how well you play your part that will get you your next booking. 2: What’s one of your career highlights? This is actually a tough one as I have so many great highlights, lets face it I love what I do!! But aside from starting up the awesome Industry Directory that is Find A Creative!!, my most wow moment in styling would have to be working on the David Jones catalogue that we shot in Venice, Italy. I just fell in love with that place. We were shooting Miranda Kerr, so Orlando Bloom just hung out for the whole shoot. We got to see the most beautiful parts of Venice that Im sure no tourist would ever get to see. I got to do my morning runs through an empty San Marco Square (this is rare if anyone has been to Venice)!! We were chased by paparazzi in speed boats down the canals of Venice while shooting, it was non-stop surreal!! (I was just actually looking at some of my pics from that trip recently and will share some Behind the Scenes on Instagram @find_a_Creative #facbts ) 3: If you had to choose another career what would it be? A Self-sufficient hobby farmer! Whilst I love the world of styling and advertising, I do sometimes dream of living a quieter life with no consumerism, Instagarm or emails! Perhaps Ill save that for retirement and enjoy the ride now! 4: Would you rather read a book, magazine or Blog? Im a look at the pictures kind of girl, anything too wordy gets skimmed right over as far as Blogs & Magazines go! Love a good book but it usually take me 6months to read as I am so tired at the end of the day I often fall asleep with it on my face. 5. What are you most likely to have a rant about!? HARVEY NORMAN ADS!!!!!, Why are they so much louder than any other ad on telly or radio, they hit a frequency in my brain that has me diving for the remote like a crazed animal, my family are use to it now and will often help me out, its seriously psychotic !!
