“5. ...for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground. 6. But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.” (Genesis 2:5-6). That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today. Our Focal Scripture reveals that God was yet to allow rain on the earth because there was no man to till the ground. God’s plan was rain, but in the absence of a man, He sent a mist (dew). God shelved His plan to send something heavier than mist, because there was no man to till the ground. Tilling the ground involves strength, commitment, dedication and a sense of responsibility. So, God sought for a man of strength who could till the ground; God sought for a responsible, dedicated and committed man, but because there was no man, He opted for mist and shelved the rain. Friend, God may not send your ‘rain’ until you are strong enough to ‘till your ground’; God may not send heavy blessings and resources into your life until you grow in strength, dedication and commitment; God may not send rain in your career, business, ministry, family, finances, etc until you grow in strength and be responsible. God desires men of strength, men who are strong in faith, discipline, character, prayers, word, competence, commitment, dedication, consistency, skills, etc. God needs men who can be trusted with responsibilities that come with ‘rain’. God desires men who can bear burdens that come with the ‘rain’ of His blessings and power. If you don’t grow in strength, you may receive ‘mist’ but not ‘rain’. If you don’t grow in strength, faith, passion, depth, intensity, tenacity, etc, God’s release on your life may not be as heavy as He planned it. Ask God to strengthen you with might in your inner man; ask for strength in areas where you are weak. Pray With Me: Lord, make me a man of strength; strengthen me in places where I am weak, in Jesus’ name! Follow on Twitter @jerrystreams. Have A Splendid Sunday.
