5 weeks today we rescued Romeo from the Noosa Pound. I believe we are his 3 or 4th home in 3 years. It took Romeo a good few days to actually look at me, I had a lot of work to do as he had no respect for humans. Not in an aggressive way, he just didnt trust. So, before I could achieve any form of rehabilitation I had to gain trust and respect. So many people ask how do you create trust and respect? To become a true leader you need to project the correct energy, you need to set rules and boundaries and most importantly you need to remember your working with a dog. The video shows Romeo yesterday in a shoe shop working hard. We have still got a lot of work to do but Im extremely proud of this little man. Most people would think Ive spent hours working on his obedience but this is not the case. Romeo understands through repetition and consistency that I will always follow through. So, he challenges me less each day. I will still work on obedience with Romeo but now he is showing trust and respect, he wants to please me. His focus has developed in line with me earning his respect. Now I will fine tune it. Its exciting seeing the change in him. https://youtube/watch?v=MG_yXsGqbKw
