50:50 Contemporary Fine Art Club MODULE- putting art work in the public domain CAR PARK EXHIBITION ISSUES- explore idea of car park as exhibition space, “pop up exhibition” - need to be careful of the art work - need to think of ramifications of the action - damage to work - weather - legality – displaying work therefore not selling, selling illegal - documentation of event, how, who - letting tutors know of event - finding spaces, hire car park, legality of it - health and safety - trail run at Salford Uni car park outside Allerton/student car park BAG – “ART IN A BAG” OR “STUPIDLY OVERSIZED BAG” - going to the audience - using Market Street in Manchester - 7 people carrying one bag, but decision was to use 2 ‘stupidly oversized bags’ - went to Shopfitters in the Northern Quarter, to look at bags and prices - inside the bags – ‘gift bags’ ‘goodies bag’, ‘party bag’ with business cards, postcard, badge to be handed out as part of a performance of the ‘stupidly oversized bag’ - this lead to talk of window display, maybe get in touch with Selfridges, Urban Outfitters to see if they would let us use a window - this lead to talk about different places to exhibit SPACES- Where to go - Castlefield – Federation House - Piccadilly Place - Rogue Studios - Manchester Arts and Craft Centre – went to see space and talk to manager - Soup Kitchen - Trafford Centre - Lloyd’s gym at the Trafford Centre - The Lowry - Rooms at Uni - Sale Arts Centre - Tatton Park - All to look at the areas they live/work in to find spaces JOBS – - Andy t shirt exhibiton proposal - Lizzie to contact Tatton Park, Knutsford, Art & Craft Centre - Ron to contact, Federation House, Penthouse, Soup Kitchen - Jo to email Arts Council about the legality of car park exhibition, check empty shops at the Trafford Centre, Lowry - Gloria to check gym for space - Martin and Ryan to contact Selfridges and Urban Outfitters about window
