#6 - I am sharing sponsorship for a child that is being cared for at a clinic I worked with while deployed to Haiti. This place is fantastic - ran by a Christian minister from America named Papa Zach. He started the clinic to take in malnourished children and nurse them until they are healthy enough to return to their families. He is assisted by his daughters and many other volunteers. They also open the doors during certain times if the week for any/all people with medical ailments. While we were there we helped deliver a baby, cared for lots of injuries that were WAY past the point of needing care, held/fed babies (and sadly prepared one for burial) and gave a few vaccinations. When the gates opened to the public, the line was as far as we could see and made up of people who traveled for days to get there. The building and supplies are very primitive but they give help to people that otherwise would likely die. I am so happy that my $30 each month will go toward helping in this effort. I can definitely be better about packing a lunch each day to save the money I wouldve spent in the cafeteria. That will more than make up this donation amount.
