(6-1/2 mins) MAKE SURE YOU WATCH THROUGH TO THE END. On 12 December 2013, the Abbott Government was emphatic in establishing the Hanger Royal Commission into the Rudd Government Home Insulation Scheme. It alleged that the scheme, intended to inject money into an economy beset with the prospect of recession due to a Global Financial Crisis, was hastily conceived and poorly implemented. One of the terms of reference for the Commission is whether the Australian Government had sufficient regard for risks, including workplace health and safety risks and whether the Australian Government dealt with warnings or information about risks adequately. Cut to mid 2014, where we see the Abbott Government wanting to introduce a wide-ranging Work for the Dole scheme, where there is no economic jeopardy looming. The scheme will see anyone claiming benefits required to apply for 40 jobs a month, and participate in a programme for six months of the year for 30 hours a week if they are 30 years or under, or otherwise 15 hours per week. It has been suggested that the real intention of such schemes is to discourage any genuine welfare recipient from making a benefit claim. Given that its estimated ten hours per week will be spent applying for jobs and 30 hours in a programme, a young jobseeker is going to be hard pressed to find the time to comply with their obligations. A major criticism of the Home Insulation Scheme was that it was not properly thought out with regard to the dangers it would have on young participants, many of whom were inexperienced and unemployed. Err, HELLO!! This video covers the whole matter. Its long, but its FAST. It contains sequences from Eric Abetz, and in almost every clip Ive sped him up by a factor of 200%. The resultant dialogue is still very much understandable. In fact its a significant improvement! The clip only contains 18 seconds of Tony Abbott, and features Luke Hartsuyker (Nationals Member for Cowper up near Coffs Harbour) Assistant Employment Minister, Kevin Rudd, Abbott, and of course Abetz being grilled on Lateline last night so beautifully by Emma Alberici. If she wrote the questions herself, what a great job. After Abetz is done (and if you watched it live, you would have been snoring quite peacefully), I cover what might happen if you were on a work for the dole scheme picking up litter from the sides of the road. Youll see. Just brace yourself for a bit of a shock at the end, which I cannot spoil. (This is by far the best video Ive ever made, Im really loving my new editing software). Also a heads-up:- there will be a Facebook Event created today as a take-home project to campaign against this lunatic and potentially very dangerous Work for the Dole scheme, which inadequately regards the warnings or information the government has at its disposal (to use the language of the Royal Commission itself). PLEASE SHARE. Oh, and dont forget to like us here at facebook/1termtony so we can get the REAL news out to even more people. Were going to need all the help we can get to ensure that Abbott does not get another term, although that seems rather unlikely at the moment anyway. {Bad Skunk} #Auspol #OneTermTony #TonyAbbott #BusttheBudget #DoubleDissolution #MorePopularThanAbbott #EricAbetz
