This tuition-free program provides motivated students ages 9 to 18 intensive instruction in ballet, pointe, modern, repertoire, and other dance forms. The classes are held weekly at The Chevron Studio at the Lyons NORDC Center and at Tulane Universitys McWilliams Hall. Auditions for the 2014-15 academic year Pre-Professional Program will be held at the Chevron Studio, Lyons NORDC Center, located at 624 Louisiana Avenue (corner of Tchoupitoulas), on June 14, at the following times: Ages 9-11: 12:00 pm - Registration; 1:00-2:45 pm - Audition Ages 12-18: 2:15 pm - Registration; 3:15-5:00 pm - Audition Through the Chevron Master Artist Series, students in the Pre-Professional Program train year-round with internationally acclaimed artists and are offered unique opportunities such as classes with NOBA Main Stage artists, performances on local and national stages, talent-based scholarships to attend prestigious summer dance programs (i.e. Houston Ballet and The Ailey School), and tickets to NOBA Main Stage performances. These students are getting exposed to the kind of artists that dont necessarily walk into just any studio. To be able to work with such renowned artists, especially tuition-free, is very rare. This is an incredibly unique program that is highly specialized, says Eduardo Vilaro, Artistic Director of Ballet Hispanico. This has been such an amazing opportunity that has helped me reach my full potential as a dancer. To be able to work with companies such as Parsons as a student is almost unheard of. I feel so lucky to be a part of the Pre-Professional Program, says Isabella Beninate, Pre-Professional Program Student.
