6.7L P2453 CODE - CRACKED DPF FILTER The first indication that something might be wrong with the DPF is a sooty exhaust pipe. Eventually your truck will throw a P2453 Code which is Diesel Particulate Filter Pressure Sensor A circuit performance. Both of these are a sign of a cracked DPF. This is caused by excessive heat upstream. The cause is generally fuel contamination causing the injectors to stick, or any of the sensors being dirty or failing which is fooling the ECM into adding more fuel to the regeneration cycle than needed. You must fix these issue before you replace the $2,000 DPF filter.
