... #6 I had fallen asleep on the floor and mother woke me up when it was dark telling me to have something to eat. I sat up and she handed me the plate of food which was a takeaway nogals -_- I ate in silent naye she was silent busy with her phone. After finishing up with eating I went outside to wash my plate and the other stuff I had used. I came back and pack the stuff. Her : Zimkhitha ? Me: Mama Her : Xolo mntanam ngento biyenzekile ngoku emini. Me : Akhongxaki. I lied . I didnt know why but I did. There were alot of things I wanted to say to her but I just didnt know where to start or how to say it to her . This was a pretty lame excuse though. But ke I just couldnt. Her : Akhongxaki nganto apha, ndikumoshile. Yizohlala apha. She patted the space on the bed next to her indicating me to sit on. I walked towards her. Her : Andizube ndigwegweleza. Ndibethwe nguPrince. Umntu wam. She started sobbing a little but held herself. Her : Andiyazi njan okanye kuban but uvile ba ndinomntana so wandenza lento. I widened my eyes. He just knew she has a daughter akatsho noba.. Hayman ! So she lies to a man or men even about having a child..children phofu ? What was she gaining from that huh ? To pretend she had no responsibilities. What was that suppose to mean kengoku ? Was I suppose to feel better because she had told me the truth ? I just didnt even know my mother anymore. How the hell did she just grew bitterness just like that ? Prince must be playing a nice song on his guitar to have my mother dancing like that on its rhythm. Im sure if he says jump shell ask how high. Me : Ok Her : Ndaxolisa mntanam. Prince ngababantu abangathandi ukuphoselwa lixanduva lomnye umntu. Ndiyamthanda yena nyan . Andiyazi ufuna ndithini lomfazi shame. Why did she even bring me up here if bendifihlwa ngathi ndingumakhwapheni ? A mother is the one who loves you more than anyone else, the one who puts his child first before anyone else. A mother will help you fight your fears. A mother will help you stop your tears. A mother will keep you safe and sound. A mother will never let you down. A mother will daily say I love you. She shows that life is brutal but that shes a shelter from the storm where you can always run to and be free. A smile would start to form everytime you heard about her name. You wouldnt fear her but fear the thought of losing her. I just didnt know what went wrong for my mother. Did she deny me to this man of hers when he confronted her about me ? Ever heard of the saying bad things happen in order for good things to fall in place or better yet asking yourelf Why does God allow bad things to happen to good people? But ke there are no good people in this world of ours nhe . The Bible even says there are no “good” people. The Bible makes it abundantly clear that all of us are tainted by and infected with sin (Ecclesiastes 7:20 ; Romans 3:23 ; 1 John 1:8 ) . Ja nhe. Things will continue happening to those who dont deserve them. I sighed . Her : Ndaxolisa kaloku Mamngwevu. Me : If utsho njalo. I just couldnt believe her. Not yet anyway. I mean actions speak louder than words right ? Right ? Her : Iza silale ke. We got ready for bed and we slept not knowing ingomso lindiphathele nton na.
