6-yr-old allegedly raped in North Kashmir Srinagar, Sep 24: A 6-year-old girl from Saadu Ganga Kandi village of Kupwara in North Kashmir was allegedly raped on September 21 by a local youth from the area. A Police official wishing anonymity told kN24 that the minor was allegedly raped by a local youth Jehangir Ahmad Najar, son of Ghulam Ahmed Najar, resident of Saadu Ganga Kandi. He said the culprit has been arrested and a case under FIR No. 234 under Section 376 RPC has been registered in this regard. Meanwhile, locals alleged that medical authorities are denying the postmortem reports of the victim. “They are trying to cover up the issue as the culprit belongs to politically influential family,” the raged locals said and demanded immediate arrest of the culprit.
