60% of the people of Gaza are severely undernourished including 428,000 children.Anaemia is widespread affecting 60% of school age children and almost 70% of infants 9 - 12 months leading to long term chronic diseases ! All these people in Gaza need support .It would be so easy to reduce the number of aid recipients.It would just be a matter of lifting the blockade and so many jobs would crop up! For example in the construction sector ; there are thousands of projects on hold and people waiting for work in construction.The day the blockade is lifted the food aid dependency will go down immediately “ UNRWA The idea is to put the Palestinians on a diet but not to make them die of hunger ! I remember the above statement by Weinglass in 2006 just before Gaza was completely cut off.At that time I was convinced it wouldnt last long and that it would drive the international community to act.We are now entering the seventh year of the blockade and yet the humanitarian crisis facing the Palestinian people in Gaza continues
