7/16/2014 - Lana admitted to Conover Nursing & Rehab today and is deteriorating as we speak. Her incision is infected and she is taking anti-biotics. Her RA medicine has rendered her immuno-suppressed so the healing is slow. They cant operate to drain the weeping incision for the same reason plus the fact that she still has blood clots on her lungs. 7/17/2014 - I saw Lana this afternoon. Somewhat better but not eating well and has difficulty getting up to the bath room. Sleeps most of the time. 7/18/2014 - They took Lana to physical therapy and her situation was much better, compared to yesterday. She cried when she saw me and said she missed me so even though I have been there nearly non-stop. Her ortho doctor called me this AM (something of a rarity for a busy surgeon). I related her condition to him and he called the Nursing Home to advise. He prescribed an anti-nausea medicine as well as an appetite stimulant. Pain is down to a manageable level. IF we can get her to eat and IF we can rid her of nausea and IF the infection will heal, nothing else should stand in her way to recovery. 7/19/2014 - Lana was able to shower this AM and is even talking about coming home. Many wonderful folks from church have come by, many others have sent cards. God bless our church, our pastor and all the wonderful folks at Emmanuel. They have made all the difference! And a big thank you to all the folks who have supported me in their thoughts and prayers.
