70 years ago today - 12 January 1945 From THE ARMY AIR FORCES IN WORLD WAR II: COMBAT CHRONOLOGY, 1941-1945 by Carter/Mueller, the Office of Air Force History, and The Mighty Eighth War Diary by Roger A. Freeman. Inclement weather once again prevented all operations other than Weather Reconnaisance. 25BG dispatched 4 Mosquitoes on WR Low Countries and Germany, and 5 B-17s on WR Azores/Atlantic/UK. Pic, caption and text from Century Bombers, On the 12th, B-17 42-311049, known as Superstitious Aloysious, began its journey back to the United States.
